Job Summary:
- Operate folder in a safe manner, following lifting procedures and encouraging others to do the same.
- Read, understand and follow instructions as specified on the job ticket.
- Set-up and change over machines properly for ppi, trim size, bind type, specified perf and specified margins.
- Load sheets into machine, job and stack signatures, pull skids/cages in and out.
- Run jobs as scheduled by Bindery Supervisor in a safe manner.
- The folder operator must thoroughly understand the quality characteristics of a “Bindery-Ready Signature” with responsibility for ensuring all signatures are coming off the machine are finished products and meet or exceed our customers and or bindery quality expectations.
- Check each job for accuracy of specifications and verify the quality meets our expectations.
- Fill-out paperwork correctly and consistently, communicating all needed information to the next operation.
- Consistently produce quantities consistent with or exceeding standards.
- Clean machine and area, perform scheduled maintenance and repairs when needed.
- Adhere to time “guidelines” for change-over’s, set-ups and preventative.
- Keep work area clean and free of hazards.
- Assist in training of new operators and employees.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to read a ruler
- Good safety skills
- Good arm, hand, eye coordination
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent attendance
Schedule is Monday to Friday, 11 PM to 7 aM – 40 hours/week
- Overtime pays time and a half after 40 hours per week
- Night shift pays an extra 8% on hours worked
