Are you looking for ways to visually spice up your book cover? Does the age of eBooks cause you to seek new ways to make your print title unique from the electronic version? Consider foil stamping, embossing/debossing, spot coating or a combination to make your cover come to life!
At Sheridan Books we can transform your cover into something that truly shines. Here is a look at some of the techniques we can use to help bring your cover to life:
- Foil Stamping – When adding an extra PMS color to your cover just won’t do, foil stamping is a great choice to add a bit of shine to title headings and images.
- Embossing/debossing – Great for titles, phrases, and images that you want to “pop” – embossing raises specific areas of a cover creating a 3-D image while debossing recesses the design rather than raising it.
- Spot Coating – Coatings are used to enhance the appearance of a book cover while at the same time protecting it against wear and tear from handling. For example, gloss lamination may be applied to the entire cover with a matte coating applied to certain areas. This allows the gloss lamination to highlight specific “spots”, such as titles or logos, and ensures the entire cover is protected.
- Have it all! – For that extra special touch and to make your cover really stand out we can foil stamp your cover first and then print over it to make the colors truly sparkle! By further employing embossing and spot coating techniques, you are sure to have an eye catching cover.
