The Sheridan Press Achieves IDEAlliance G7® Master Printer Qualification | The Sheridan Group

Hanover, PA – The Sheridan Press, a provider of printing and publishing services to the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly journal markets, has been recently qualified as a G7® Master Printer by IDEAlliance at its Hanover, PA facility. Having received the G7® Master Status, The Sheridan Press can now provide its customers with G7® proofs and prints.

The Sheridan Press obtained the G7® Master status by calibrating its equipment and systems to simulate the G7®G7 grayscale definition. G7® is device independent. The G7 neutral print density curve, calibration methodology, and gray balance definition is the same for any technology, substrate, or colorant. By using the G7® definition, The Sheridan Press will have a matched color appearance between different
printing devices due to the 1-dimensional curves.

Many consumers are requiring G7® from their printers because it helps ensure the same gray balance and neutral tonality across all print material for repeatable and consistent color appearance on all products. With G7® Master status, The Sheridan Press can now meet the customer’s expectations by providing matching proofs and prints to the latest color industry standards.
