Sheridan’s New Hampshire location began in 1793 as part of Dartmouth College, printing books, newspapers, pamphlets, and college catalogs. Today, Sheridan has four U.S. based production facilities that serve university presses around the world.
Cambridge University Press, the oldest university press in the world, can trace its roots back to 1534 when it was “granted Letters Patent, similar to a royal charter, by King Henry VIII to print ‘all manner of books’”.
With offices in 50 countries, Oxford University Press is the largest university press in the world.
University of Chicago Press is considered the largest American university press.
